Pre Millenial Preterism Debunked

by Brad Baker

Dec. 17/2021

1 There is a lot at stake when it comes to eschatology here in the Book of Hebrews and how things would be fulfilled. 2 Different views lead to different options which cause division that greatly hinders unity. 3 Especially when it comes to when Jesus entered into the Most Holy Place with His blood with the Feast Day of Atonement being played out with it’s fulfillment within Preterism compared to Futurism. 4 One group that has been challenging to deal with is the Pre Millennial Preterist View.

5 Pre Millennial Preterism is the term ascribed to those who believe that Christ returned in judgment upon Jerusalem in A.D. 70, after that pretty much any thing goes with them for what believe in and they are not all on agreement with other things. 6 Most are Partial Preterist and have their roots in Preterism when it first started and few claim to be Full Preterist. They believe Christ took the throne of his glory in AD70 (Mat 19:28, 25:31 and Rev 3:21), aka his Parousia or presence on the throne of David in heaven to begin his reign with his saints in AD70 instead of at His ascension 40 days after Christ was crucified that most Full Preterist believe in. 7 Some Pre Millennial Preterist believe that the 1000 year millennium started in AD70 and has been in progress ever since which has been almost 2000 years now. Full Preterist believe the 1000 years ended in AD 70 instead of beginning there and is connected to Pentecost and the Tabernacle of David being restored. 8 Some Pre Millennial Preterism believe that modern day Israel is accounted for, for being in prophecies that were to be fulfilled in AD70 according to what Jesus John and Daniel said.

9 As a Full Preterist I believe Christ began to reign with the saints in Heaven after His ascension just 40 days after He was crucified. This is where things differ and get misconstrued with some in the Pre Preterist Millennial view.

10 There main verse from scripture which they use to support their view that Jesus made the purification of sin for complete redemption came from the event that happened at the cross is from:

Hebrews 1: 3who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

11 Some Pre Millennial Preterist also believe that Hebrews 9: 28 was fulfilled at Jesus’ Ascension 40 days after He was crucified with the second appearing, then they turn around and say Christ entered the Most Holy Place with His blood at the cross to purify sins. 12 Did they forgot Christ was dead for three days and nights before He could do anything.

13 Some believe that Hebrews 9: 28 was fulfilled at the cross but Jesus’ Ascension 40 days after He was crucified was His second appearing which also fulfilled Hebrews 9: 28, but His coming in the clouds of glory happened in AD70 with the destruction of the city and Temple.

Hebrews 9:28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

14 Which one is it because they can’t have it both ways and I stand on what I have said before that Jesus entered into the Most Holy Place after the Temple no longer stood according to Hebrews 9: 8 fulfilling the Feast Day of Atonement with His second appearing according to Hebrews 9: 28.

Hebrews 9:8 the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.

15 How can you have His second appearing at His ascension when the Book of Hebrews is said to have been written in between AD65 – AD100 which was at least 35 years after His ascension. 16 Would it not make more sense for His second appearing to have happened after the Book of Hebrews was written instead at the cross or His ascension like some of them believe …?

17 They have so many different view within PMP that just don’t make any sense nor fit in to God’s plan of redemption through the Seven Feast of the Lord being fulfilled with all of those Feast fulfilled at the cross yet have the Feast Day of Atonement’s second appearing being fulfilled at the cross when that was the Feast of Passover being fulfilled.

Matthew 26: 2 “You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”

18 Jesus actually died in the same day and hour that the Passover Lamb was sacrificed on the Feast of Passover.  During the Feast of Unleaven Bread the Feast of First fruits was filled with Christ’s resurrection from the dead on the third day exactly on time for the east of First fruits being fulfilled. Then Pentecost came 50 days later and was fulfilled at the Upper Room with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

19 I think they forgot Christ was dead for three days and nights before He could do anything. 20 Are they trying to say that Christ entered into the Most Holy Place while He was on the cross before He died or even after He died while still on the cross…? 21 That would contradict what the scriptures say here :

Matthew 12: 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Ephesians 4:8 Therefore He says:

“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.”

9(Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?

The Book of Hebrews

21 The book of Hebrews has this one thing that seems to contradicts it’s self on Christ having entered into the Most Holy Place before the Temple no longer stood where it says:

Limitations of the Earthly Service

Hebrews 9:8 the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.

The Heavenly Sanctuary and was it according to the Tabernacle of David

Hebrews 9:11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

22 However there was a difference between the Earthly Temple and the Heavenly Temple or sanctuary. 23 The other thing about the book of Hebrews was it appears to have been written after the Temple was destroyed. 24 I am not saying it was but if it was then the book of Hebrews would not seem to be contradicting it’s self because it would have been written with a timeframe that was not limited to the Temple being destroyed, before the Most Holy Place could have been entered into by Christ, to do accordingly to the pattern set by the law and how the Levitical Priesthood would have functioned, though Christ was acting in the order of The Order of Melchizedek which means that He was not limited to having been from the Tribe of Levi.

25 As I have said before during the first century the Church was functioning according to the Tabernacle of David according to Acts 15 so that the Gentiles could seek the Lord without going through the Old Covenant way with the restrictions of not being able to enter into the Most Holy Place in the Heavenly sanctuary. 26 However when it came time for Jesus Christ to fulfill the Feast Day of Atonement which was the Great White Throne Judgment, He did so according to the law and pattern set by God with the Seven Feasts of the Lord in Leviticus 23. 27 That would explain why the Most Holy Places could not be entered while the Temple was standing in Hebrews 9:8

Hebrews 9: 8the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.

Who Wrote the Book of Hebrews..?

28 The Epistle to the Hebrews of the Christian Bible is one of the New Testament books whose canonicity was disputed. 29 Traditionally, Paul the Apostle was thought to be the author. 30 However, since the third century this has been questioned, and the consensus among most modern scholars is that the author is unknown.

31 David Curtis from the Berean Bible Church believes Barnabas wrote the Book of Hebrews and it does make sense that he did because Barnabas came from the Tribe of Levis which was the Tribe God set apart for the Priesthood. 32 The Book of Hebrews was written in great detail of how the Levitical Priesthood functioned and Barnabas would have been qualified to know and show the style the Book of Hebrews has.

33 In 61AD Barnabas was martyred by his fellow Jews. 34 He died in 75AD when a group of Syrians stoned him to death and legend says that his body was hidden a secret tomb in part of the Salamis necropolis by his friend John Mark and his followers.

When was the Book of Hebrews Written..?

35 Therefore, the most probable date for its composition is the second half of the year 63 or the beginning of 64, according to the Catholic Encyclopedia. 36 Despite this, some scholars, such as Harold Attridge and Ellen Aitken, hold to a later date of composition, between 70 and 100 AD.

37 Much of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament may have been assembled in the 5th century BCE. The New Testament books were composed largely in the second half of the 1st century CE. The Deuterocanonical books fall largely in between.

38 Timothy is mentioned in Hebrews 13:23 so this gives more credit to the book of Hebrews to have been written no later than AD97 and if it was written after the Temple was destroyed then that throws a whole new perspective on the book and one that would not seem to be contradicting it’s context where I have mentioned.

39 Know that our brother Timothy has been set free, with whom I shall see you if he comes shortly.

40 Timothy of Ephesus, meaning “honouring God” or “honoured by God” was an early Christian evangelist and the first Christian bishop of Ephesus, who tradition relates died around the year AD 97.

41 If Paul was the one who wrote the book of Hebrews then it would have been written before AD67 when he died

42 Some Pre Millennial Preterist believe that all of the laws were nailed to the Cross and well as Jesus having fulfilled all that was to be fulfilled at the Cross.

Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

43 Colossians 2: 13 should be understood like this. 44 Let’s say you were arrested for not paying a debt that you owed. 45 And then the one who arrested you wrote up their side of the story regarding to how you broke the law as a form of what was held against you. 46 Then you go to trail and the Judge said someone else came in the other day and paid your debt in full so we are dismissing the charges that were written against you and you are now free to go.

47 Now does that mean that the laws were removed or nailed to the cross. 48 No it doesn’t it still would be against the law to not pay your debts. 49 Therefore the claim the Christ nailed all the laws and fulfilled them at the cross is erroneous to say the least. 50 Can you just imagine how that would effect to society of law and order with total chaos of lawlessness everywhere going on.

51 Jesus did not fulfill all things at the cross otherwise why was the Feast of Pentecost fulfilled around 50 days after the cross. 52 If the Feast Day of Atonement was fulfilled at the cross then why would Apostle John mention the Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation still yet to come from the time he wrote it.

53 Meanwhile some Pre Millennial Preterist say the Feast Day of Atonement was fulfilled at the cross and that was when Jesus figuratively enter the Most Holy Place to make atonement and purify sins. 54 Then on the other hand some say that the Great White Throne Judgment which was the Feast Day of Atonement being fulfilled occurs yet in the future after the Pre Millennial Preterist’s view of the 1000 year millennium. 55 Then they say to me that I don’t make sense. This is like watching CNN fake news with all of their smoke screens and to be attacking a straw man.

56 The Israel Only View leads to atheism but the Pre Millennial Preterist is hilarious and yet very confusing, however it does challenge us on the book of Hebrews and that I can not blame anyone for seeing that there is no proof of when or who wrote it.

57 Either way I have shown how in the book of Hebrews the first century Christians could enter into God’s presence without the restrictions of not being able to enter into the Most Holy Place through the Tabernacle of David that was restored to them for the first century, and how Christ could not enter into the Most Holy Place before the temple no longer stood to fulfill the Feast Day of Atonement according to the law and pattern God set for His Seven Feasts.

What was the Complete Salvation They Waited for…?

58 While the first century saints were purged from their sins they were still waiting for complete salvation to come and what that means is they were waiting for the Manifestation of the Sons of God to take place which happened when the Old Covenant had completely vanished away with the destruction of the city and Temple when the Feast of Trumpets was fulfilled in AD70. 59  The Great White Throne Judgment which followed with the Feast Day of Atonement being fulfilled. 60 Then the Manifestation of the Sons of God to took place with the Feast of Tabernacles being fulfilled with the entering into the New Heaven and Earth which was the antitype to entering into the promised land. 61 All of the Fall Feast were fulfilled in AD70 according to God’s plan of redemption for mankind to restore us all back to a Garden of Even in the Spiritual realm of the Kingdom of God.

62 In order for their complete salvation to be fulfilled, all of the Fall Feast had to be fulfilled and the Old Covenant system had to be removed completely which was at the end of the Age in AD70. 63 All of the Spring Feast were fulfilled starting at the cross and completed on the day of Pentecost which was around 50 days later.

64 Some Pre Millennial Preterist say all was fulfilled at the cross and use Hebrews 1: 3 for their proof and that Christ sat down after He purged sin meaning that there was nothing left to do. 65 I don’t understand how their Great White Throne Judgment has been waiting for almost 2000 years to be fulfilled, unless they believe that to have been fulfilled at the cross, but I believe they believe that is yet to happen along with most of Revelation 20, but they have their freedoms to believe whatever they see fit that will support their futuristic view of the 1000 years. 66 Now if complete redemption came from the event that happened at the cross then why would Jesus have said that it would come after His coming in Glory after what He said here which clearly describe the events that took place back in AD70 when all things which are written may be fulfilled:

The Destruction of Jerusalem

20 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

The Coming of the Son of Man

25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Conclusion:

67 One of the main leaders of the Pre Millennial Preterist claims that Hebrews 1: 3 was the fulfillment of the Feast Day of Atonement that happened at the cross and then after Christ sat down and waited 40 years to begin His Millennial reign when the Temple was destroyed which I say happened after His ascension which was forty days after He had rising from the dead. 68 So right here what I have below blows this theory away:

Hebrews 1:3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

69 Back when Moses was delivering the people of Israel out of Egypt them were commanded to purge their houses from any leaven. The Feast of Unleaven Bread happened the day after the Feast of Passover.

Exodus 12: 15 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses. For whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel.

70 So you see that the purging of sin that Hebrews 1: 3 was speaking of was not a fulfillment of the Feast Day of Atonement that this Pre Millennial Preterist claimed to be but it was  of The Feast of Passover that the cross fulfilled as shown in:

1 Corinthians 5:7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

71 Here is what I believe that the Spirit was saying to me. 72 There are two purges within the Seven Feasts of the Lord which was the type for God’s Redemptive Plan. 73 The individual purge was within the Feast of Unleaven Bread. 74 It was during this fulfillment that all believers could enter into the Most Holies Place because the Tabernacle of David was restored when the veil was torn at the cross and recorded in:

Matthew 27:51Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split.

75 Then from that point on all believers could free enter into the Most Place Place in the Spiritual realm and be purged from their sins by confessing them when they occurred.

76 Then the second purification or purge was after the Temple was thrown down and no longer stood but this was not for individuals who separately would be purged from sins this was for the whole world that lived during the Age of Adam’s sin and death that they inherited from Adam. 77 This was a fulfillment of the Feast Day of Atonement which was a type for Israel as a nation but the antitype was for the whole world. 78 After that event was fulfilled Adam’s death was cast into the Lake of Fire and the world was Baptized into the Holy Spirit and with Fire and received Eternal Life by being made alive by Christ. 79 Then the whole world entered into the Feast of Tabernacles being fulfilled and the Marriage of the Lamb took place and everyone became their Offspring in a twinkling of an eye and a nation was born that very day. 80 It did not take an ongoing process, it was done and completed. 81 What we are experiencing from that time forward is the antitype to the Prodigal son with all things made new for the New Heaven & Earth.

82 Typology should be looked into but even after that we still need to spend that time with God and hear what His Spirit is saying on any issue before we go out there and proclaim it. Everyone view out that all have those who reply on their Greek god to prove their points. 83 Some actual believe that no one today has the Holy Spirit indwelling anyone after the end of the Old Covenant Age in AD70 as if the outpouring was only for the gifts but when it comes down to it we can only confess that Jesus Christ is Lord by the Holy Spirit who indwells us.

84 Just read what Paul wrote about how what is written has to be un-veiled through the Spirit of the Lord here:

2 Corinthians

Christ’s Epistle

3 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? 2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.

The Spirit, Not the Letter

4 And we have such trust through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Glory of the New Covenant

7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. 10 For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. 11 For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious.

12 Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— 13 unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains un-lifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

85 One of the main leaders in the Pre Millennial Preterist view told me that they do not hold to that there is a future general resurrection. 86 They confessed that the first resurrection was in AD70. What they do not realize is that the Bible says that the first resurrection was for the blessed saints that happened in Matthew 27: 51-53 and carried on until AD70:

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

87 So far what sets up the Pre Millennial Preterist view from what they are saying right now is that the first resurrection was in AD70. 88 And that there would not have been any second resurrection where the rest of the world would be resurrected both the just and the unjust for the Great White Throne Judgment.

89 Here is the problem about that view. John said in:

Revelation 20: 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

90 The first resurrection was a resurrection for the blessed and just saints that extended from Matthew 27:51-53 to AD70. 91 The resurrection of Daniel 12 take place for the unjust who went into the Lake of Fire.

Daniel 12:2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.

92 The judgment of the living and the dead is at the end of the millennium according to Revelation 20:7-14. 93 The time for the judgment of the living and the dead and the end of all things is at hand when Peter wrote (1 Peter 4:5-17. 94 Therefore, the time for the end of the Millennium had arrived when Peter wrote.

1 Peter 4:5They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. 7But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

1 Peter 4:17For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God.

95 The time of when He would reward each according to his works was to occur in the first century: Matthew 16. 96 That was the end of the 40 year Millennium and the Great white Throne  Judgment occurred. 97 Therefore, the end of the Millennium judgment and rewarding of everyone occurred in the first century. 98 The Millennium did not begin in AD 70, it ended then.

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. 28Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”
