1 In this article will cover a lot of information to know about the resurrected from the dead and this can be seen through the typology of the three harvests Israel had throughout the year. It is seen through the cycle of a seed to its full growth from death to harvest. It will cover:
1. Physical Body vs. Spiritual Resurrection
2. Corporate Body vs. Individual Body Resurrection
3. The Three Phases of the Resurrection
4. Mystery of the Resurrected who Reigned with Christ in Heaven in Revelation 20: 4-6.
2 The importance of a resurrection of the dead can not be underestimated whether it was a physical or Spiritual resurrection that has to be determined. 3 Our faith would be empty and the whole world would still be in their sins under the laws that came from the Tree of Knowledge and without access to the Tree of Life which produces Resurrection Life in the Spiritual realm for the believer.
1 Corinthians 15: 12 Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. 14 And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. 15 Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. 16 For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. 17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!
4 The physically body resurrection as the main view within Christianity for the second coming of Christ. 5 It had creeped into the mindset of religious leaders throughout the centuries who used that view in order to make people afraid of the life hereafter. 6 They portrayed God who would roast non believers forever in Hell with burning flames if they did not believe in every word those Neo-Pharisees said according to their doctrines and creeds. 7 What they have done hides the truth and brings God to shame in the eyes of the world as a cruel tyrant. 8 They do it because they can control the gullible to support them with their dedication of time and money and it works because we have about 40,000 different denomination in the world today. 9 This makes what they have preached look as if they are like the Tower of Babel all speaking in different languages and each one of them with a different god to worship all trying to reach up to Heaven as if God is somewhere else to be seen, rather than dwelling here within us today as Spiritually Manifested Sons of God celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles forever in the New Heaven and Earth. 10 They are truly missing out just like many Jews did not notice the Messiah when He came in the first century.
11 A lot of people put more value in a physical resurrection from the dead than a Spiritual resurrection. 12 It seems like they had to have their few pounds of flesh in the Kingdom of God that they value more that being a Spirited being with a Spiritual Body for the hereafter in order to make believing in God to be worth while. 13 They don’t want to have to look back and say they sacrificed all the fun they could have had doing whatever they wanted to do in life. 14 It is a very important thing for them in the future to have a physical body resurrected after they die and they hope to have it forever without feeling any pain, getting sick and getting older as the years go by for all of eternity. 15 These beliefs do not match up with reality and what Isaiah said in:
Isaiah 65:20 No more shall an infant from there live but a few days,
Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days;
For the child shall die one hundred years old,
But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.
16 When I asked someone who believed like that, would people have children and would they still need to be saved from sin and become born again in the New Heaven and Earth and they said no. 17 Everyone there would have done that while they were physically alive on Earth before the Second Coming of the Lord. 18 So from their beliefs the New Heaven and Earth would be a place where they would have their own physical body that would have become Immortal in a youthful appearance that would never suffer pain, sickness or a disability. 19 However according to Isaiah when he wrote about the New Heaven and Heaven says otherwise though Isaiah could have been referring to after the Babylon captivity Apostle John draws from Isaiah 65 & 66 to the New Heaven & Earth at the end of the Age in AD70.
Isaiah 65:23
They shall not labor in vain,
Nor bring forth children for trouble;
For they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord,
And their offspring with them.
Isaiah 66:
7
“Before she was in labor, she gave birth;
Before her pain came,
She delivered a male child.
8
Who has heard such a thing?
Who has seen such things?
Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day?
Or shall a nation be born at once?
For as soon as Zion was in labor,
She gave birth to her children.
9
Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says the Lord.
“Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?” says your God.
20 Apostle John said that there would be sinners in the New Heaven and Earth in:
Revelation 21: 7He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
21 I’m not going to be taking this article in that direction so much other than a few good points to clarify a few things. 22 I will mostly be looking at the three phases and order in which people were resurrected from a Spiritual point of view to those who reigned with Christ both in Heaven and on the Earth during the signified one thousand year millennium from AD30 to AD70. 23 After all Jesus became a Life-giving Spirit so I believe it deserves more attention. 24 We will be looking at the resurrection of the dead by looking at in type of how a seed is transformed into plant as well as the three harvest times which are in type of the process of the three phases of the resurrection during the first century but first look at physical verses Spiritual resurrection.
Physical Resurrection Vs. Spiritual Resurrection
25 This section on the topic of resurrection is to see how not all resurrections are the same nor are they to be taken as the same.
Physical Resurrection
26 In all of the cases where someone was resurrected from the dead in the New Testament there was nothing written of them doing things in their physical bodies except for Lazarus in John 11:42-44 who Jesus rose from the dead and was seen again in John 12: 12 where Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with Jesus. 27 Not a word about Lazarus after that walking around in his physical body but he was a believer in Christ and Jesus said this just before He rises Lazarus from the dead:
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?
John 12: 12 Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. 2 Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honour. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him.
28 Lazarus did not have to wait to be resurrected with those in Matthew 27:50-53 while they slept in hades unless Lazarus physically died again until they were resurrected into the New Jerusalem spoken of in Hebrews 12 with new Spiritual bodies. 29 Some say that those who were resurrected like Enoch, Elijah and Lazarus and those in Matthew 27:50-53 died again. 30 We have no recored of what happened to those raised from the dead in Matthew 27:50-53 and Lazarus. 31 I’m sure if King David would have been walking around in a Spiritually resurrected body everyone would have want to be with him and what would have happened would have been recorded in someones writings. 32 Of all the people resurrected from Matthew 27:51-53, no one would be able to recognize anyone because cameras for picture identifications were not available and they probably spoke in a different language. 33 Only an accurate artist would have been able to give people an idea of who they were unless those resurrected said who they were, but then would they understand their language. 34 With them all having a Spiritual Body they would have been like the Angels and they would have disappeared anytime and Ascended into Heaven following Jesus. 35 And then a Spirited Being can manifest in other forms and even in a physical body like Jesus did in Mark 16:12 but at what point in time did Jesus change into a Spiritual body.
36 Jesus said a few things to Thomas who was doubting that Jesus had risen from the dead that convinced Thomas that Christ truly had risen from the dead:
John 20:27Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” 28And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
37 So Christ had a physically resurrected body as seen in John 20:27 but we can also see another side to the story where Jesus Christ had become a Life-giving Spirit where He would have transformed into just before He Ascended into the Kingdom of Heaven where flesh and blood could not enter.
Spiritual Resurrection
1 Corinthians 15:44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
2 Corinthians 5:15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 15: 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.
38 After Jesus was resurrected no one could recognize Him in Luke 24 and He also appeared in another form in Mark 16:12.
Mark 16:12 After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country. 13And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.
39 In order to understand their way of thinking back in the first century we can see this is how they thought about Spirited Beings being resurrected and appearing in a physical form. 40 Here is what some people were saying about Jesus.
Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” 14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
41 Here is what some were saying about who the twelve disciples were as if they were resurrected people from the past after Jesus sent them out on a mission :
Mark 16:12 So they went out and preached that people should repent. 13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them. 14 Now King Herod heard of Him, for His name had become well known. And he said, “John the Baptist is risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.” 15 Others said, “It is Elijah.” And others said, “It is the Prophet, or like one of the prophets.” 16 But when Herod heard, he said, “This is John, whom I beheaded; he has been raised from the dead!”
Jesus said that John the Baptist was Elijah, yet John the Baptist was born from a woman but in Luke 1: 17 it says that John would be in the spirit and power of Elijah so Elijah being resurrected here was a Spiritual resurrection of Elijah, not a literal physical resurrection of him. This was Malachi 4:5 being fulfilled according to the scriptures yet we have a John the Baptist being born from Elizabeth to fulfill Elijah the prophet appearing a second time on Earth. Would this be a type of Christ appearing a second times through those who overcome, believe and abide in Him at the end of the Age…?
Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
Luke 1:13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. 14 And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. 15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. 16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. 17 He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
18 And Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”
19 And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. 20 But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”
42 Apostle Paul claimed that Christ was speaking through him:
2 Corinthians 13:3 since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you.
43 Jesus Transfigured on the Mount with Moses and Elijah who would have been in Abraham’s Bosom in Hades waiting to be resurrected to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 17:1 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; 2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. 3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. 4 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. 7 But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” 8 When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.
9 Now as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.”
10 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
11 Jesus answered and said to them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things. 12 But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands.” 13 Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist.
44 So then why did Jesus say: Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead. 45 And did Moses and Elijah physically die again so the they could be part of the ones resurrected in Matthew 27:-50-53…? 46 According to scripture Christ was the first one resurrected from the dead in verse: Matthew 27: 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
John 3:13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.
47 So many mysteries here on those who were resurrected from the died I think it would be fair to say that no one has all the answers.
Corporate Resurrection Event & Individual Resurrection
Corporate Resurrection Event in Ezekiel 37
48 In Ezekiel 37 is it pretty clear that the resurrection here is a Corporate Resurrection Event but with individual bodies, if it was a Corporate Body Resurrection CBV there would have been only one body.
Ezekiel 37:10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel.
49 The resurrection of the House of Israel in Ezekiel 37 was about the rebuilding of the nation after the Babylon captivity but John draws on that for Revelation 20 and that would have been then those in Matthew 27: 51-53 were resurrected. 50 This resurrection was a fulfillment of the Feast of First Fruits that could have only applied to the saints out of the whole house of Israel. 51 No unjust or wicked were resurrected here because Revelation 20:6 saysBlessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. 52 The Feast of First Fruits occurred during the Holy Week known as the Feast of un-leaven bread. 53 The first phase of the resurrection was the Feast of First Fruits being fulfilled was non-active of disembodied souls. 54 During the Feast of Unleaven Bread they were to purge their house of all Leaven and it was to be done just once and not as something that was ongoing which is what is meant by being non active.
55 Don’t let the thousand years in Revelation 20 fool you, when John wrote the book of Revelation he was told to signify the writings. 56 The thousand years could be connected to Pentecost’s outpouring of the Holy Spirit and King David’s Tabernacle being restored for the 40 years the Church waited for the end of the Age to come when the second appearing of Christ in the clouds of glory happened.
57 The next Corporate Resurrection Event was the Second Resurrection also called the General Resurrection at the end of the Age when all the just and the unjust from around the world who were dead in Hades since the beginning of time. 58 This Resurrection occurred during the time when the Feast of Trumpets was to be fulfilled at the sound of the last Trump when the Temple was destroyed. 59 From then on this is when Christ judged the all the nations of the world and fulfilled the Feast Day of Atonement in the Great White Throne Judgment of Revelation 20:11 and Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire in verse 14.
The Son of Man Will Judge the Nations
Matthew 25:31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
60 The Second Resurrection was at the end of the Age and occurred just before Judgment day. 61 This was a Corporate Resurrection Event of all the nations of the world. 62 It happened in the Fall time in AD70 during the fruit harvest when the winepress of the wrath of God. 63 It was a time of harvest and separating that we see in the parables Jesus taught like the the sheep from the goats. 64 As well as separating the wheat from the weeds, and good fruit and bad fruit.
Revelation 14:19 So the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
65 The three Fall Feasts and went on for a whole month with a celebration at the end of it with the Feast of Tabernacles. 66 They were fulfilled at the end of the Age in AD70 with a new Age that begun and all things made new.
Spiritual Resurrection
67 In between the first and second Corporate Resurrection Events which would have been the first and third phase of the resurrection there was a time of about 40 years where those who came to Christ and got baptized in water and the Holy Spirit were being raised from the death Adam died the day he sinned. 68 This was the second phase of the resurrection where back in time when Adam’s physical death was substituted with an animal that God sacrificed for them, Adam’s Spiritual death was a separation death from God, but through believing and being baptized the first century saints were brought into the presence of God with Spiritual life after the Holy Spirit was poured out on them in the book of Acts. 69 This was the Feast of Pentecost being fulfilled. During The Feast of Pentecost they had to offer up two loafs of leaven bread. Leaven is figurative for being active and ongoing. 70 For the next 40 years individuals were coming to Christ and being filled with the Holy Spirit and they was alive reigning with Christ while on the Earth and they were active and were part of the First Fruit as seen in Leviticus 23:17 which includes them in the First Resurrection. 71 It should be noted here that the second or General resurrection which would have been the fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles and would have been the third phase of the resurrection of the fruit harvest that first fruits is not mentioned. 72 First Fruits was only for the First Resurrection that had two phases, first phase was of disembodies souls from Matthew 27:51-53 and the second phase was a Spiritual Resurrection of physically alive souls from Pentecost to AD70 who reigned on Earth with Christ.
73 Jesus said He would send a comforter the Holy Spirit to them and when you have one of the Godhead in you you have them all so they were reigning with Christ through the Holy Spirit:
John 14:15“If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – 17the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
Coming of the Holy Spirit
Acts 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Ephesians 2:5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Leviticus 23:17You shall bring from your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour; they shall be baked with leaven. They are the firstfruits to the Lord.
The Three Phases of First & Second Resurrection
74 The Seven Feast of the Lord in Leviticus 23 which was God’s prophetic plan of redemption had three harvest times within them which were in type of the three phases of resurrection. 73 Those three harvest times required all the people of Israel to be in Jerusalem for those three Feasts that all seven Feasts were included within those three times of harvest. 74 The barley harvest was the first and it was in the springtime during the Holy Week of Passover and Un-leaven Bread, with the Feast of First Fruits within that week which was after the Sabbath Day that was fulfilled with Christ resurrection and those who followed in Matthew 27:51-53. 75 Next was the wheat harvest time was in the summer but group in with the Spring Feasts as part of the First Fruits which was the Feast of Pentecost that was fulfilled by the Individual’s Spiritual Resurrection through believers who were filled with the Holy Spirit during the first century. 76 All of these Spring Feasts were fulfilled in antitype and began at the Cross to Pentecost in AD33. 77 The fruit harvest was in the the fall time when all of the last three Fall Feast were going on for a whole month which were fulfilled in antitype in AD70 forty years later when the Age of the old Heaven and Earth came to an end. 78 They were the Feasts of Trumpets, Feasts Day of Atonement and Feasts of Tabernacles and this fruit harvest was in type for the Great White Throne Judgment where people were judged according to having the fruits of the Kingdom or not.
79 The first resurrection that began in Matthew 27:50-53 it appears that it happened when Jesus was on the cross but in verse 53 it clearly says: and coming out of the graves after His resurrection. 80 Jesus was raised from the dead three days after He was crucified, is a stated fact as well as all the saints from the past who died and had slept in hades waiting to be resurrected. 81 The first resurrection is seen in Matthew 27: 51-53 which also included Individual’s Spiritual Resurrection by being baptized in the Holy Spirit that was only for believers in Christ, it was a process that took 40 years to complete until the General Resurrection that would take place for all the just and all of the unjust from all nations of the world. 82 When Jesus was resurrected on the day that the Feast of First Fruits was fulfilled He walked among the people of Israel for forty days and then ascended into Heaven. 83 So that those who came to Christ while still alive on the Earth could reign with Him Spiritually in Heaven while still being physically alive on the Earth according to Revelation 5:10 along with the disembodied souls who got a Spiritual body who were only in Heaven who were raised up from the dead in Matthew 27: 50-53.
Revelation 5:10 And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.”
Matthew 27: 51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
84 When I think of the harvest times Israel had it speaks to me of the process a seed goes through before it is resurrected and produces grain or fruit. 85 It also speaks figuratively of our lives in how we respond to all the words in what Christ had said and when we die to ourselves we arise with newness of life with Christ abiding in us. 86 The first century saints were the example of how they came to life through the death Jesus died for them and by faith they receive His righteousness and were born again. 87 This all made it possible for their faith to grow in God’s word and motivated them for bearing good fruit because of His word being a promise to them.
John 12:23 But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. 25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
Pre-Trib. Rapture AD66 Vs. Post-Trib. Adoption GWTJ AD70:
Addition
February 24th 2023
92 I’ve always had a post tribulation belief in the past going back to the early 1980’s Having had this belief before I became a Preterist 93 I have come to some new interesting views on the subject that I had never seen before. 94 This is from a Preterist perspective that addresses two similar events that were seen as one or the other I see them both appealing but with the Post Tribulation. not as a rapture but the adoption Romans 8:23 speaks of. 95 The completion of the First Resurrection that includes a Pre-Tribulation rapture, or a body change from a physical body to a Spiritual body without experiencing physical death for those saints who the First Fruits that were alive at the time in AD66. 96 Then a Post Tribulation adoption for the rest of the world after the Great White Throne Judgment occurred.
97 The First Resurrection compared to the Great White Throne Judgment resurrection of the just and unjust from the whole Earth. 98 Those who were alive after missing out on the rapture in AD66 were not changed into a Spiritual body like the First Fruits were. 99 Rather they were adopted into the family of God as Manifested Sons of God though almost all would be like the Prodigal Son who was considered Spiritually dead because they were not overcomer’s in the faith. 100 Most of the people in the world were pagans or never heard about Jesus Christ. 101 This change from Adam as their father to Christ occurred after Adam’s sin and death was cast into the Lake of Fire and everyone in the whole world would never be sent to Hades after they physically died. 102 Everyone would face the Judgment seat of Christ to determine their destiny in the afterlife. 103 They would be judged based on whether they had the fruits of the Spirit which is written in everyone heart and mind. 104 Those who were of faith and were overcomer’s inherited all things and were worthy to attain eternal life would be rewarded accordingly. 105 Either they would have their Spiritual body be immortal and dwell in the Kingdom of Heaven, or their Spiritual body and soul would go up in smoke in the Lake of Fire where their Spirit conscience would be tormented forever in the presence of the Lamb.
106 When judgment began it began first at the house of God in Jerusalem and ended when the Temple no longer stood. 107 When this began it started with the sealing of those who were the 144,000 who were resurrected with Christ in Matthew 27:51-53 where the dead preceded first before those who were alive and were changed in the first Resurrection in AD66. 108 Those who were alive had already been sealed first with the Holy Spirit but those who were resurrected in Matthew 27:51-53 who Ascended into Heaven with Jesus were sealed last.
1 Peter 4:17For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?
Pre-Tribulation Perspective:
109 Josephus gives an account of this glorious event just before the Great Tribulation started that Daniel 9:27 speaks of with the sacrifices ceasing and the abominations of desolations began. 110 This could have been the final sacrificial offering during the Feast of Pentecost and the 144,000 may have been sealed followed by the rapture or bodily change into Spiritual bodies of those who remained.
1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.
111“Moreover at that feast which we call Pentecost [June 66 AD], as the priests were going by night into the inner [court of the] temple, as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, ‘Let us remove hence.’”[Wars6.299 (6.5.3)]
Revelation 7:1After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3 saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.” 4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed:
An interesting comment from Ed Stevens:
112 Ed Stevens “Quote”: “Note that Josephus gives us the exact day and hour when this event occurred (on the day of Pentecost at the hour of the evening sacrifices), where it occurred (in the Jerusalem Temple), and who witnessed it (the officiating priests). The Jewish priests testified about what they felt and heard in the Temple at night on Pentecost in the year AD 66, at the very time when the Zealot war with Rome was about to begin.
“This transfer of a large multitude from one place to another in the unseen realm seems to have been the resurrection of the dead and the change of the living saints, when they were caught up to be with Christ. This event occurred at Pentecost, fifty days after Passover. Notice also that it occurred at night, not during the daytime. That explains why no one noticed the snatching away of the living saints.” — page 221, “Final Decade”, Ed Stevens

Correct application of one verse – those wonderful Aha! moments – often leads to other obscure passages finally being clear. On the other hand, misapplied Scripture almost always leads to other Bible passages brought in for mistaken confirmation. This has been the case with this all-important topic. It is so easily for any of us to give in to confirmation bias, seeing what we want to see from the biblical evidence.
“End Quote”
Things to Consider:
114 Jesus gave us some things to consider here in the Parable of the wheat and tares. 115 The tares could not be pulled up when both the grains of wheat and tares were just sprouting or else it would take the wheat with them.
116 When harvest time came the reapers first gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them. 117 It does not say they burned them right away. 118 They could not burn them right away because a wildfire could have burned the wheat as well and if farmers did that now days they would be sued. 119 The wheat had to be taken into the barn first where it was safe before the tares were burned up.
120 So then the saints who were resurrected with Christ preceded those who were changed into Spiritual bodies and were sealed with the seal of God before those who were changed in AD66.
121 All of this happened before Jerusalem and the temple were burned down and this happened before the Great White Throne Judgment of the whole Earth in AD70.
Matthew 13:24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”
The Day of the Lord:
122 The Day of the Lord could have happened over the whole time of the Great Tribulation of three and a half years and possibly started sooner with Jesus the farmer began crying out everyday Woe to Jerusalem in the fall of AD 62. 123 He was eventually killed by a stone that was flung by an engine used by the Roman army 7.5 years later.
124 Then in AD66 Josephus wrote about the appearances of Christ in the sky during the Great Tribulation and judgment upon Jerusalem up to the end of the war. 125 Christ coming in the brightness of His coming happens after those days of tribulation, after Jerusalem and the Temple were destroyed for the Great White Throne Judgment of the whole Earth. 126 Christ then appeared a second time without sin as the High Priest would do on the Day of Atonement after presenting the blood in the Most Holy Place.
AD 66 May – Passover. Appearance of Christ in the sky
2 Peter 3:8But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Matthew 24:15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
The Coming of the Son of Man
Matthew 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Revelation 1:7Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.
Hebrews 10:9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.
1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
The Destruction of Jerusalem
Luke 21:20 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
The Coming of the Son of Man
25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
Holy Convocation Days and Feasts of the Lord and the three phases of the resurrection:
127 Spring Harvest AD30
1 Passover – Jesus Christ crucified for the sins of the world
2 Feast of Un-Leaven Bread – Deliverance from the slavery of sin
3 First Fruits – of Israel & Christ resurrection of the dead – Harvest Matthew 27:51-53
128 Summer Harvest AD66
4 Feast of Pentecost – Resurrection of Spirit in AD30 & Spiritual Body Resurrection in AD66. The two loafs of Leaven Bread was the foreshadow of those who were alive on the Earth. One loaf may have represented the AD30 former rain and the other AD66 latter rain’s outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which has been ongoing ever since on all flesh.
Josephus attests to these tremendous events:
“Moreover at that feast which we call Pentecost [June 66 AD], as the priests were going by night into the inner [court of the] temple, as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, ‘Let us remove hence.’”[Wars6.299 (6.5.3)]
1 Corinthians 15:51Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
129 Fall Harvest of the Earth AD70
5 Blowing of Trumpets – Ending with the Temple being destroyed and the end of the old Heaven and Earth. This was like the antitype to the walls of Jericho falling down with Joshua as commander of the people of Israel in the promised land.
Joshua 6:20 So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
6 Day of Atonement – The Great White Throne Judgment Resurrection of the Just and Unjust in AD70. With the old Temple no longer standing or having a stand the way for Christ to enter into the Most Holy Place to make atonement for the whole world was ready. This was after He made atonement for His Bride the first century Church. Now it was time for the whole Earth and with that came the adoption into the Manifestation of the Sons of God and as Offspring from the Bride and Groom that was the fulfillment the Marriage of the Lamb. This was the fulfillment for Romans 8:18-23 where all of creation was to be delivered out from corruption and into the New Glorious Creation where all things were made New.
Hebrews 9:8the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.
Hebrews 9:28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Hebrews 10:9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.
The Day of Atonement was also a Jubilee in the Old Covenant that was a type for the whole world in AD70.
Leviticus 25:9Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land.
Seventh Trumpet: The Kingdom Proclaimed
Revelation 11:15Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”
7 Feast of Tabernacles – New Glorious Creation of the New Heaven and Earth and increasing of the Kingdom of God who tabernacles with His people where His presence dwells.
Conclusion:
Sealing of the 144,000 and the Resurrection of the First Fruits who had the Spirit AD66:
130 Notice here how in Revelation 7:1 is holding the four winds of the earth and when the winds are released Josephus recorded what may have been that event in AD66 at the Feast of Pentecost. 131 This could have connected the sealing of the 144,000 from Matthew 27:51-53 who rose from the dead after Christ and were sealed just before the Great Tribulation began and the rapture of the saints would have happened immediately after.
Revelation 7:1 After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3 saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
132 Josephus account:
“Moreover at that feast which we call Pentecost [June 66 AD], as the priests were going by night into the inner [court of the] temple, as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, ‘Let us remove hence.’”[Wars6.299 (6.5.3)]
1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
133 While those who were Martyred for their testimony for Christ seemed to be resurrected right away and did not have to wait until AD66. 134 Many others who were in Christ that died had to wait to be resurrected just before those who were alive in Christ were changed into Spiritual bodies without having to physical die first like everyone after the resurrection do.
1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Revelation 14:13Then I heard a voice from heaven saying [a]to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”
Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
135 In AD 66 prince (Eleazar b. Ananias) took full control of the temple and stopped all sacrifices for Gentiles and put the sacrificial system to an end. 136 The abomination of desolation begin the Great Tribulation that Daniel spoke of and Jesus quotes from in Matthew 24.
AD70 Reaping the Earth’s Harvest:
Revelation 14:14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
The Great White Throne Judgment
11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Hebrews 10:9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.
Leviticus 25:9 Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land
