1 Isaiah was prophet from the 8th-century BC from Israel after whom the Book of Isaiah is named. 2 He lived about 300 years before the Nation of Israel was taken into the Babylonian captivity for 70 years. 3 What Isaiah spoke of a New Heaven & Earth in chapters 65-66 would have been meant for Herod’s “Cyrus’s” Temple that was built after the children of Israel were released from the Babylonian captivity and for the times that they were living in until AD70.
4 John’s version of the Hew Heaven & Earth was for after AD70. 5 The Babylonians destroyed Solomon’s Temple that was a type for the Heaven & Earth that Israel had that was set up through the Tabernacle of Moses in the wilderness, and then Solomon’s Temple so a New Heaven and Earth was created for them that lasted until AD70; Isaiah’s 65 New Heaven and Tear was a type for the Age to come with a New Heaven and Earth found in Revelation 21.
6 As Robert E Cruickshank Jr. said: “Quote” Apostle John was drawing from Isaiah 65-66 to portrayed the next New Heaven & Earth in Revelation 21-22 but Isaiah was aiming at was after the Babylon captivity for a New Heaven & Earth with Herod’s Temple being built. “End Quote”
7 It all makes sense now, John’s definition would be for the Age that was to come, as one that would come down from Heaven to deliver the whole Creation out from the bondage of Corruption according to Romans 8:20-22. 8 Isaiah’s definition mostly belongs along with the Old Covenant which vanished away in AD70. 9 For what John was describing for the Age that was to come, the Old Covenant would have had to come to an end at the end in AD70. 10 The old Age had two different Heaven and Earth’s within the old Age of Corruption that were types for the New Age that was to come. 11 There was a difference between a Heaven & Earth within the old Age. 12 Don’t be surprised if more thought provokers come our way that will challenge our former beliefs, so have an open mind and be a free thinker. 13 I’m learning everyday, that I do not know it all and neither does anyone else. 14 But we all can learn from each other and see what fits in right for the truth to be established even if it’s just a stepping stone to something else that will hold up better. 15 One thing I’ve learnt over the years in seeking the truth is that it takes you upward on a journey and when you look back down and wonder how did I ever get to this place where I’m at today, and then feel like your only getting started on the journey without much support from others.
16 In this article we will see how Isaiah’s New Heaven & Earth was still under the Old Covenantal laws compared the John’s New Heaven & Earth coming down from Heaven and in each case the former things were to be not remembered and to have passed away. 17 Herod’s “Cyrus’s” Temple never had the Ark of the Covenant within the Most Holy Place so that was something new to me but eventually the Messiah came as God manifested in the flesh for Isaiah’s New Heaven and Earth; that was a type for the Immanuel Tabernacling with His Whole Creation in the New Heaven and Earth after the end of the Age of Corruption post AD70.
18 Some people think that because in Isaiah 66 that pork is forbidden and that the Sabbath Day will still be kept that will be for the Age to come in the New Heaven & Earth we have been in, but those things from Isaiah 65-66 were under the Old Covenant laws. 19 Since Isaiah lived 300 years before Solomon’s Temple was destroyed by the Babylonians it would be fair to say that the New Heaven & Earth Isaiah was writing about was mostly for Herod’s Temple which was to be under the Old Covenant until it was destroyed in AD70. 20 Jesus said that Heaven & Earth would pass away to the generation that was alive at the time He said it to. 21 John describes the New Heaven & Earth differently from Isaiah as one coming down from Heaven.
22 Herod’s “Cyrus’s” Temple that was built after the Babylonian captivity was described as the New Heaven & Earth, because Isaiah 51:16 describes the Heaven and Earth from when he was alive with Solomon’s Temple before it was destroyed by the Babylonians. 23 Solomon’s Temple represented Heaven and the Nation of Israel with Jerusalem as its Capital represented the Earth who was married to God of the Old Covenant. 24 In Revelation 21:1-2 the New Jerusalem is described as the Bride of Christ of the New Covenant for the New Age with a New Heaven and Earth where God is the Heavenly Temple.
Isaiah 51:16 And I have put My words in your mouth;
I have covered you with the shadow of My hand,
That I may plant the heavens,
Lay the foundations of the earth,
And say to Zion, ‘You are My people.’ ”
Isaiah 54:5 For your Maker is your husband,
The Lord of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.
Isaiah 66:17 “Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves,
To go to the gardens
After an idol in the midst,
Eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and the mouse,
Shall be consumed together,” says the Lord.
Isaiah 66: 23And it shall come to pass
That from one New Moon to another,
And from one Sabbath to another,
All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord.
Matthew 24:34Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
Revelation 21:22But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
25 When the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem and Solomon’s Temple, the Ark of the Covenant which is where God met the High Priest once a year on the Day of Atonement went missing and has never seen since. 26 The Ark of the Covenant contained the Mercy Seat, Ten Commandments, Arron’s Rod, Pot of Manna, and the Book of the Law. 27 All were within the Most Holy Place within the Temple.
28 Both Isaiah 65-66 and John 21-22 have similar things written in them. 29 Both have sinners so that should end the theory that Futurist come up with that Heaven will be on Earth someday where there will be no sins committed and that everyone will never sin. 30 As well as other utopia fantasies like no death, sorrow, crying, and pain. 31 Another way to look at Revelation 21:4 was that the sacrifices ended especially the Day of Atonement which was the most solemn day of the year but the Hadean death also was swallowed up in victory; There are so many thing in the unseen realm that could be seen here that will never be seen if someone is expecting a literal fulfillment of pain and death etc.
Isaiah 65:17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
Revelation 21:1-4 Explained
Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
32 In AD70 God saved the whole world from the curse of the law that came from Adam’s Age of Corruption of sin and death. 33 No ever since that time goes to Hades after they die. They either go to Heaven and have eternal life or the Lake of Fire and have eternal condemnation.
34 We all live in the New Heaven & Earth both saints and sinners. Saint live in the light of truth, sinners live in the realm of Outer Darkness while here on Earth; Those who are in Outer Darkness may not find a Revelation 21:4 fulfillment and some got the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.
35 The New Jerusalem was the first century Church “First-Fruits” as the Bride of Christ according to what John saw in Revelation 21:2; who was also the woman John saw in Revelation 12:17 who had Offspring. 36 No one today is or will be the Bride of Christ, with Christ being the last Adam “The Everlasting Father” and a Life-Giving Spirit. 37 Everyone after the Marriage of the Lamb that occurred in AD70 are the Spiritual Offspring of the Bride and Groom including sinners and we are the Manifested Sons of God according to Romans 8:19-23. 38 We all sin from time to time but when we return back we do so like the Parable of the Prodigal Son and return back to life by putting back on immortality that we were clothed with from birth because Christ made all alive according to 1 Corinthians 15:22.
39 Sorrow, crying, and pain that John was speaking of was from the Old Covenant especially on the Day of Atonement which was a day of fasting and prayer for the sins of the Nation. 40 There was a lot of sorrow, crying, pain and death on the annual Day of Atonement. 41 There was more sacrificing of animals for the sins of the Nation than any other day, which was in type for the Whole Creation to be delivered out from the bondage of Corruption in AD70; when Jesus appeared without sin after the Temple no longer stood for the Whole Creation. 42 The judgment that came upon Jerusalem and with “Cyrus’s” Temple being destroyed was vengeance against those who killed Christ and His followers and so that the New Jerusalem could be established; but the judgment was also of all the nations dead since Adam.
Sinners in the New Heaven & Earth
43 The theories that Futurist come up with what Heaven will be like, on Earth someday where there will be no sins committed and that everyone will never sin is just not true. 44 Except for in the hereafter and in the Kingdom of Heaven which neither flesh or blood can enter into. 45 You will have to wait until you physically die first and get a Spiritual body for that. 46 People can get so mixed up and confused about the timing of things of when, where or how they were to happen, either Spiritually or physically.
Isaiah 65:20 No more shall an infant from there live but a few days,
Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days;
For the child shall die one hundred years old,
But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.
Revelation 21:7He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
47 It could be very well that some of the things from Isaiah 65-66 were meant for the Age that we now live in and some were meant for only the times after the Babylonian captivity to the end of the age in AD70. 48 But we know for sure that all the John wrote was for this Age of the Glorious New Creation.
49 The one from Isaiah 66:7-8 makes most sense for it to fit into at the end of the Age of Corruption and for the Glorious New Creation in AD70 because this lines up with Revelation 12 with the woman in the wilderness of the Great Tribulation of therein a half years with Offspring.
Isaiah 66:7“Before she was in labor, she gave birth;
Before her pain came,
She delivered a male child.
8 Who has heard such a thing?
Who has seen such things?
Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day?
Or shall a nation be born at once?
For as soon as Zion was in labor,
She gave birth to her children.
Revelation 12:13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. 14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15 So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labours with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
Beating their Swords into Plowshares:
50 Isaiah and Micah who 300 years before the Nation of Israel was taken into the Babylonian captivity for 70 years both write what would happen before the destruction of Jerusalem and Solomon’s Temple:
Isaiah 2:4 He shall judge between the nations,
And rebuke many people;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore.
51 Most people take that to mean is way off into the future and Futurist use this verse to try to disprove Preterism, but it was referring to the Babylonian captivity for 70 years. 52 Israel was not able to go to war during that time because they were in captivity and Isaiah, Jeremiah and Micah all clearly said they would go into Babylon.
Jeremiah 25:11And this whole land shall be a desolation and an astonishment, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
Jeremiah 29:9 For they prophesy falsely to you in My name; I have not sent them, says the Lord. 10For thus says the Lord: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Micah 4:10 Be in pain, and labor to bring forth,
O daughter of Zion,
Like a woman in birth pangs.
For now you shall go forth from the city,
You shall dwell in the field,
And to Babylon you shall go.
There you shall be delivered;
There the Lord will redeem you
From the hand of your enemies.
53 PS. I’m not sure about the Sea in Revelation 21:1 but I’m willing to take a shot at it with it being connected to not coming out of Egypt through the Red Sea being parted; but when they came out of Babylon they did not have to pass through a Sea in type for Isaiah 65 and 66 mainly because it was just two chapters before and makes sense:
Isaiah 63:11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying: “Where is He who brought them up out of the sea With the shepherd of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within them,
54 The antitype in Revelation 21:1 had to do with being delivered out from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God according to Romans 8:20-22.
Romans 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labours with birth pangs together until now.
Isaiah 65:23 They shall not labor in vain,
Nor bring forth children for trouble;
For they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord,
And their offspring with them.
Acts 17:24 God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25 Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. 26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ 29 Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. 30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
Joel 2:3 A fire devours before them,
And behind them a flame burns;
The land is like the Garden of Eden before them,
And behind them a desolate wilderness;
Surely nothing shall escape them.
Joel 2:28a “And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
55 Revelation 21:1 declares that, “the first heaven and the first earth has passed away and there is no more sea.”
56 The heaven and the earth of Genesis 1 has not passed away and all you have to do is look around you and you will see the Earth of Genesis here and now.
57 The first heaven and the first earth that John was speaking of in Revelation 21:1 was the New Heaven and Earth in Isaiah 65:17 that was established after the Babylon captivity.
58 The former that shall not be remembered or come to mind was the one in Isaiah 51:16 that during Isaiah’s lifetime 200 years before Babylon destroyed Jerusalem and Solomon’s Temple.
59 It was from the days of Moses setting up the Tabernacle that was not to be remember or come to mind from Isaiah 65:17.
Isaiah 65:17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
60 Then the “Type” New Heaven and Earth of Isaiah 65:17 which was the first Heaven and Earth spoken of in Revelation 21:1 passed away when Cyrus’s Temple was destroyed in AD70 and a “Antitype” New Heaven and Earth appeared in the unseen Spiritual Heavenly realm.
The word “first” does not always mean the every first
To reiterate that, In Revelation 21:1 is says that the first Heaven and Earth passed away and there was no more Sea.
To begin with the every first Heaven and Earth was in Genesis 1 and it was literal, it was not Spiritual or the antitype to a type. Just like the first Covenant that the Bible mentions was with Noah after the great flood. Yet during the first century the Covenant God had with Moses was considered the first Covenant that was vanishing away in Hebrews 8:13. Then the next verse in the next chapter clarifies what that first covenant had and we can see clearly that it had nothing to do with the Covenant God made with Noah which was the very first covenant in the scriptures.
Hebrews 8:13 In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
Hebrews 9:1Then indeed, even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service and the earthly sanctuary. 2 For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the lampstand, the table, and the showbread, which is called the sanctuary; 3 and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All,
Also what we call the first century was not the first of the heaven and Earth that was created in Genesis 1.
The very first antitype of the Heaven and Earth is found in Isaiah 51:16 and it was referring to the Covenant God had with Moses and the people of Israel. The antitype of the Heaven and Earth God planted with Moses used the elements of God’s creation in Genesis 1 as a type for the Heaven and Earth. This Heaven and Earth passed away when the Babylonians destroyed Solomon’s Temple which was the antitype to Heaven. and they destroyed Jerusalem which was the antitype to the Earth.
Isaiah mentioned a New Heaven and Earth emerging after the Babylonians captivity. This New Heaven and Earth with the Temple Cyrus had built became the type for the New Heaven and Earth that we now have and it began after Cyrus’s Temple and Jerusalem that he had built was destroyed by the Romans in AD70 that was considered the coming of Jesus Christ in vengeance against those who crucified Him. Jesus Christ is the builder of the New Heaven and Earth that we now live in and He is the Heavenly Temple and His Bride is the New Jerusalem who are the fruits first from the first century. Everyone else was whether adopted into the liberty of the children of God in AD70 or everyone else that followed when born after AD70 are the Offspring of the Bride and Groom.
The point here is that the word first is not always meant to be the very first such has the Covenant Creationalist use the word first in Revelation 21:1 to mean the Heaven and Earth God created in Genesis 1. By what the Covenant Creationalist have done by doing so opens the door to God not creating the literal Heavens and Earth and by doing that they open Pandora’s box to anything for the creation of the Heaven and Earth.
76 Over centuries and thousands of years of time the word first can lose it’s original meaning of being the very first.
